Pioneer Gospel Driller

FROM THE
STREETS TO
THE KINGDOM

XLVI K is Kenya's pioneer Gospel Drill artist, signed under Christian Geng Record Label. His debut single "Afande Ati?" in 2022 spotlighted the reality of police brutality faced by Nairobi's slum communities, especially those in Kawangware, his home.

His catalogue has grown to include four EPs, PEACE MTAANI, DRIP, SON RISE and KIND OF LOVE, plus his debut album RACING THOUGHTS. Every body of work carries one mission: preach the gospel through the drill format.

In 2023 he was elected Chairman of the Kenya Holy Hiphop Association. In 2024 he released his book DRIP, a journey into soul-winning and discipleship. He is currently working on his second album.

The mask is not a costume. It is a statement. "I do not want it to be about me. When people know me, they know Christ." Black on one side, white on the other. Preaching to both the lost and the found.

Why XLVI K?
XLVI K is 46K in roman numerals. 46 represents Kawangware 46, where I was born and raised. K represents the Kingdom of God, where I now belong after giving my life to Christ. The name carries my whole journey.
Why the mask?
Because I do not want it to be about me. I prefer people to know me by what I say, not how I look. When people know me, they know Christ, because that is all I talk about.
Why black and white?
The great commission in Matthew 28:18-20 calls me to speak to those who have seen the light and those who have not. The black and white mask represents preaching to both the saved and the lost. The jews and the gentiles.
Why Gospel Drill?
Drill music speaks the language of the streets. The streets of Nairobi are full of young people who need to hear the gospel. I bring the message in a format they already know and respect. The genre is the vessel. The gospel is the content.
